BIO
Today the two cousins, Roberto and Fabio with Fabio’s wife, Katia are formally in charge, but both their parents are still there to help and check that everything is done properly. They all live above the cellar and that is why visiting La Meridiana feels like visiting grandparents’ home. Since the 1900’s they grow olive trees and vines, their extra virgin olive oils always score with the top of Italy.
Their 20 hectares are located in different areas, all close by. They farm organic, a choice not so easy because of the lake’s humidity. They are one of the only 8 organic producers of Lugana.
On this side of Lake Garda, the pride of a producer is the local rosè, called Chiaretto. The legend says that the grapes are left to macerate overnight and that delivers the typical pink salmon color.
BIO
La Meridiana is not a fancy winery, from outside it looks like a normal house, but as you get closer, you will notice the collection of old agricultural tools, the old farming images framed on the wall, an unusual vase with a 100 years old vine. As you enter the gate, at least 2 family members will welcome you.
