BIO
Les Vignerons du Castelas were founded in 1952 from the will of four Winemakers to share their grapes and hard work, in order to be able to deliver great wines from the area of Rochefort -du-Garde (at that time just a small town) located in the Southern Rhone Valley, between Avignon and Pont du Gard.
They named themselves after Le Castelas, the Romantic chapel built in the 11th Century, a symbol of the town. With the years, other wine growers and winemakers joined and today they reached 450 ha of vines, producing great AOP Cotes du Rhone on three different terroirs: schist, limestones and rounded pebbles; three Private Domaine and a special and unique Cotes du Rhone Villages Signargues. All the winegrowers are sustainable, and many of them are in the conversion to get certified organic. Grenache, Sirah and Mourvèdre are vinified separately and only the best parcels are blended to be bottled. The rest is sold in bulk.
« Moins de vin mais meilleur … » “less wine but a better one” was the motto of Les Vignerons du Castelas since their foundation and that phrase is still present on the wall of the cellar as a reminder.

This cuvée was vinified for the first time in 2002 on a special parcel of 1 acre.
“Mésanges” is the bird “bleu tits” typical in South Rhone. It is very well known because it eats only the tastiest grapes.
A delightful rosè, icon of the terroir : Rochefort du Gard benefits both of the South Rhone garrigue and the soil and microclimate of the Provence. This delivers a rosè, persistent on the middle palate with a playful mineral finish.
Respelido” means Re-birth in Occitan dialect. The wine comes from an ancient Domaine in Tavel bought from one of the founders in early 2000. The potential of the terroir was great but the vines were abandoned, so in 2015 all new vines were planted, with the vision to make the Domain re-birth.
This wine is made from 60 years old vines. It is an outstanding classic
