Andrea’s uncle was a well known enologist and in his childhood, the whole family got together to harvest a small family vineyard. That is one of Andre’s happiest memories and this is what brought him to drop law school to find his own winery. San Biagio Vecchio used to be a Church property, and the local priest, Don Antonio, loved to make wine from such a unique area. But the Church thought he was spending too much time in the vineyards and they decided to sell the property. Andrea worked with Don Antonio for one year, learning all his experience. Meanwhile he met Lucia, who was the sommelier at the next door restaurant. They fell in love and now they are partners. Always smiling and with a positive attitude, they started their journey balancing between the respect for the Romagna traditions and the awareness of their unique “terroir” which deserve to be translated in the bottle. Only indigenous yeast on fermentation, long skin contact maceration on the whites delivers 2 interesting orange wines, shorter maceration and only concrete and stainless steel aging for the reds. They are one of the only 8 producers of Centesimino, a grape varietal that survived phylloxera.

The label was drawn by their daughter Livia when she was 4 year. It is a blend of Trebbiano, Albana and Malvasia di Candia. All the grapes go through a 7 days skin contact maceration, fermented with indigenous yeast, aged in stainless steel. A nice introduction to orange wine.
100% Albana. The color reflects the skin of the grape when harvested. 2 days skin contact maceration followed by fermentation with indigenous yeast. Stay on the lees until April. An orange wine with nice tannins, loved by red drinkers.
100% Sangiovese coming from a sandy soil, so very fresh, excellent even chilled. Pairs well with spicy food, anchovies, cold cut and smoked fish or meat. The family used to have 2 geese on property: the silly one is on the label.
100% Sangiovese named after the beautiful tower overlooking the winery. It is the expression of the territory and its soil. A very intriguing nose and nice elegant long lasting tannins.
The grape survived to the Phylloxera, thanks to a man who planted a plant in his garden during the epidemic. So the grape (previously called Savignone Rosso) took his nickname “Centesimino”= penny pincher!
A nice floral fragrance on the nose, opens up on the palate as a Cabernet-Syrah blend.
